// Configuration ///

We believe 3 Story Software is among the most configurable vendor and workforce management applications in the world. We allow customers to configure everything from workflow preferences, to language, data input using templates, and over a hundred other features, with zero development time or cost. We even allow customers to have divisional, departmental or location-specific overrides to the majority of the configuration options.
We configure the application using online wizards, a step-wise process that makes decision-making easy and painless, and provides an easy-to-follow guide to starting and finishing the configuration in a very short amount of time.
We have a more extended conversation with customers on financial coding requirements, template preferences, workflow rules, and how the supply chain should be configured.
But the majority of steps are very simple, like naming your expense types, a screenshot below illustrates how easy it is.

There are hundreds of rules in the system, the majority of which can be left as the system defaults, but all of them are easy to understand, grouped according to function, and have online documentation.

The team that configures the site can show the results of the configuration in real time, as the configuration unfolds. This provides the customer a much more rapid way of reaching consensus and getting their organization up and running.
After we configure the site we put the new configuration through a series of online tests, have real users go through the process end-to-end, and then we migrate the configuration into the production site.
